//New York Wedding Photography// Being a wedding photographer enables me to travel the world and visit places that I ordinarily might not ever think about visiting. It’s an aspect of my ‘job’ that I really adore; travelling to wherever the weddings may take me. I met Katiri and Africa back in May 2016 when I was shooting the amazing wedding of Katiri’s sister, Nayrobi and Shai (watch their wedding highlights here: Nayrobi & Shai). On their trip over to the UK for the wedding, Africa had whisked Katiri over to Paris and popped the question. I remember that they enquired then if I might consider joining them for their wedding over the pond in the U.S.A and of course I jumped at the chance. Fast forward nearly two and a half years and BOOM … here we are!
Katiri and Africa are one seriously amazing couple and they have become good friends of mine during the whole wedding process. They took me under their wings from the moment I landed in New York and made me feel every bit a part of their awesome wedding. Everyone knows that New York is one incredible city and I am eternally grateful for their inviting me over to document their wedding day for them. They tied the knot on Long Island at The Inn at New Hyde Park. With an outdoor ceremony and an enormous reception room, this venue provided the perfect backdrop for Katiri and Africa’s wedding day.
Now I like a good wedding party but boy oh boy did Katiri and Africa know how to ensure the dance floor was constantly full! From the second they entered to the moment they left, the dance floor was never empty. It was one hell of a wedding celebration for sure and I loved every second. I even learnt the steps to Wobble Baby by V.I.C (if you haven’t heard of it it’s well worth a watch on YouTube!). I guess, in summary, what I’m trying to say is that this wedding was absolutely spectacular. See below for the evidence!
