Mansfield Traquair Wedding Photography

A wedding which involves a road trip to Edinburgh, a camper van ride to a remote Loch for piccies, a Bonnie Burrito stand in the church car park, a ceilidh and a top secret wedding reception location?! … HELL YES PLEASE! Lucy and Dougie first got in touch with me back at the beginning of last year and, after I met up with Lucy and her mum in London and chatted ‘all things weddings’ over a bottle of Prosecco, I knew for sure we were going to hit it off. Everything Lucy told me about what to expect from their wedding plans were absolutely bob-on-the-mark. That is to say this lovely pair certainly didn’t disappoint. A stunning dress, traditional Scottish kilts, breathtaking surroundings and an awesome wedding crowd, this big day was an absolute pleasure to be a part of and a real treat to photograph. For the couple portraits we headed out to the stunning Linlithgow Loch in the camper van as this is a very special place for this lovely pair as it was where Dougie popped the question so it seemed only right we made a feature of this breathtaking backdrop in some of their piccies. The location for the evening reception had been kept top secret. Mansfield Traquair is located in the heart of Edinburgh and this incredible space was to set the scene for the evening reception and what a fantastic wedding venue it made for Lucy and Dougie. Edinburgh is an incredible city and I felt completely honored to have been asked to make the journey way up north from London to share along in this wedding day; it was such a delight and I was made to feel very welcome by Lucy, Dougie and all their lovely family and friends. It seems strange that I call this thing I do ‘work’ when I have so much fun along the way.
