What a crazy few months I’ve had away from the world of weddings. My baby boy arrived a little earlier than planned back in February and since then I’ve been finding my feet with learning the parenting ropes. Bringing a little person into the world has definitely been one of my biggest achievements and my little dude makes me so so proud every day (apologies for the ‘gushingness’ – I know this isn’t a word but I can’t think of another!) It would be false of me however not to mention that learning to be a mum has been one of the toughest things I’ve ever had to do. There’s nothing quite like learning on the job right!? Building my business over the last seven years has been an epic journey and one that I have loved. I am so proud of ‘Amy B Photography’ and so I’ve actually found it quite challenging ‘taking my foot off the gas’ on the business-front and throwing myself full steam ahead into all those things that come with being a new mum (I can safely say I’m never going to get used to the sleepless nights!)
But … Stanley is now approaching four months old already and I have no idea where the time has gone. It might be a bit of a cliche to say but “they really don’t stay newborn for long!” I had to make some minor adjustments to my wedding season to accommodate having a baby (don’t worry though … this doesn’t mean that I’m going to be turning up to my weddings with my little guy in my camera bag too!) I have LOTS of exciting things planned ahead and will be introducing a bit of business ‘facelift’ at some point. It may seem a bit backwards as having a baby often creates chaos but, having Stanley has actually forced me to slowdown a little and carefully reconsider the vision for where I’m at in my career. I will be rolling out a few exciting ‘tweaks’ over the coming months but for now, I’m starting with blogging some of the gorgeous weddings that seemed to slip through my net last year and what better wedding to feature than Daisy and Mark’s. It was just one week after this wedding that I found out about my pregnancy so it feels very apt that their beautiful wedding kicks off my ‘coming back to work’ vibes.
